LingoBot is designed to help you learn languages through AI-powered lessons and conversations. It is an educational tool and does not provide professional legal, medical, or financial advice.

Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

  • Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
  • Application refers to LingoBot: AI Language Tutor, the software program provided by the Company.
  • Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to LingoBot: AI Language Tutor.

Learning Plan Data

To generate your personalized learning plan and chapter-wise topics, we collect the following information. This information is provided directly by you inside the app.

  • Your name
  • Selected learning language
  • Previous learning experience
  • Current fluency level
  • Topics of interest
  • Skills you want to improve (e.g., speaking, listening, reading, writing)
  • Daily study time commitment

Conversation Content

The Service may allow you to chat with an AI tutor. We process the messages you send and the content generated in response in order to provide the Service, keep context during a session, and improve the learning experience.

Voice & Audio (optional)

If you enable speaking practice, the Service may process audio recordings (and derived text such as transcripts) to provide pronunciation feedback and conversation practice.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service and may include information such as Your Device's IP address, browser type and version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Use of Your Data

  • To provide and maintain the Service.
  • To personalize lessons, recommendations, and tutoring responses.
  • To provide speaking and pronunciation practice features (if enabled).
  • To manage Your Account (if applicable).
  • To respond to user inquiries and support requests.
  • For analytics and product improvement such as identifying usage trends and improving the user experience.
  • For security purposes, fraud prevention, and abuse detection.

We do not sell Your Data.

AI Processing and Third-Party Service Provider

The Service uses artificial intelligence technology provided by OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C., United States) to generate tutoring responses, corrections, explanations, structured lesson plans, pronunciation feedback, and practice activities.

To provide these features, the following user-provided data may be transmitted securely via encrypted HTTPS connection to OpenAI’s servers:

  • Name
  • Selected learning language
  • Previous learning experience
  • Current fluency level
  • Topics of interest
  • Skills to improve
  • Daily study time commitment
  • Conversation messages you send in chat
  • AI-generated responses
  • Audio recordings and derived transcripts (if speaking practice is enabled)

This data is processed solely for the purpose of generating personalized language-learning content and providing AI tutoring features.

OpenAI does not use this data for advertising purposes. We require that OpenAI maintains data protection and security standards equal to or greater than those described in this Privacy Policy.

Data may be processed on servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions where OpenAI operates.

Your data is transmitted to OpenAI only after you provide explicit in-app consent. If you decline, AI-powered features (including personalized lesson plans and chat tutoring) will not be available.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We may share Your personal information in the following situations:

  • With Service Providers: to host the Service, provide analytics, deliver customer support, and help us operate and improve the Service.
  • With OpenAI, L.L.C.: to generate AI-powered tutoring responses, structured lesson plans, pronunciation feedback, and language-learning recommendations.
  • For business transfers: in connection with mergers, financing, asset sales or acquisitions.
  • With Affiliates: where affiliates are required to honor this Privacy Policy.
  • With Your consent: for any other purpose with Your agreement.

Retention of Your Data

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time unless used to strengthen security, improve functionality, or when legally required to retain it longer.

Conversation content and audio (if enabled) may be retained only as long as needed to provide the Service (for example, to maintain conversation history or learning progress), and is deleted or de-identified when no longer required.

Delete Your Data

You have the right to request deletion of Your Personal Data at any time.

You may request deletion by:

  • The email associated with your account (if applicable)
  • A clear statement requesting deletion of your personal data

Upon receiving a verified deletion request:

  • We will delete Your Personal Data from our active systems within 30 days
  • Where applicable, we will also request deletion of any associated Personal Data held by our service providers
  • You will receive confirmation once deletion is completed

Please note:

  • Some information may be retained where required by law
  • Residual data may remain temporarily in encrypted backups but will not be actively processed and will be deleted according to our backup retention schedule
  • If You do not have an account but previously used the Service, You may still request confirmation of deletion by contacting us at the email above

Your information may be processed at the Company's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in processing are located — this may involve transfer to locations with different data protection laws.
